We are looking for an Art Teacher for an international school in Wuhan. This position is available from the upcoming 2026–27 academic year in August, 2026.

About the school
Located in Wuhan, this international and bilingual school offers an innovative, high expectations curriculum in a modern campus with spacious classrooms, gymnasiums, multiple performance spaces, science labs, a swimming pool, and student dorms. It currently serves over 400 students in grades PreK to 9 and will expand annually toward a capacity of 1,800 students in grades PreK to 12. From middle school onward, students engage in advanced coursework that builds strong foundations in core subjects and prepares them for honors and Advanced Placement pathways beginning in ninth grade, while the school also emphasizes embracing Chinese culture and creating a supportive environment for both students and faculty.

About the role
As an Art teacher, you introduce kindergarten and primary school students to a wide range of artistic media and techniques, explore key movements in art history, and help them understand how art both reflects and shapes culture and society. You work closely with colleagues to create meaningful cross curricular links, such as integrating art with history or technology. You also help plan and lead showcases and events throughout the year that celebrate student creativity and highlight their progress. As well as:
  • Build strong relationships with each student to support a personalized and successful learning journey
  • Guide students toward academic achievement, personal responsibility, and intellectual curiosity
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, collaborate with colleagues, and stay current with effective teaching practices
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative school community

Job requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in your subject area
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working in a bilingual setting preferred
  • At least two years as the lead teacher in a classroom
