Primary EAL Teacher

We are looking for a Primary EAL teacher for an international school in Xian. As the primary homeroom teacher, you’ll responsible for facilitating the learning of students in the elementary school from grades 1-6. This is a full-time position starting ASAP.

About the school

Xian has been home to this international school since 2003 and it is the city's first institution to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. The school provides educational programs ranging from the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, to the Diploma Programme, covering all educational levels from kindergarten to high school.

Job responsibilities

• Teachers must create lesson plans, incorporate technology, administer praise and constructive criticism, instruct and inspire students while following school’s curriculum
  
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicates those objectives to students.
• Work independently and collaboratively to design and refine curriculum with team members in the department and inter-disciplinary units with other department members
• Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments to assess students’ progress.
• Work with the pastoral teams, meet with parents to maintain links between home and school
• Take an active role in the wider curriculum, participating in extra-curricular activities and Week Without Walls trips

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above
• At least 2 years related teaching experiences or above
• Current teaching certification
• A good understanding of the IB PYP
• Excellent English communication skills

Salary and benefits:

• Monthly salary of 28,000 to 37,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
