We are looking for a Music Teacher for an international high
school based in Suzhou. This is a full-time position starting from the August
2024 academic year.
About the school
This high school in Suzhou is the first and only
international high school in partnership with America to be recognized and
approved by the provincial Ministry of Education. The school’s curriculum is
student-centered, preparing them for top universities by emphasizing critical
thinking, English proficiency, and a combination of Chinese and American
educational practices.
Job responsibilities
- Teach music and music production to high school students ensuring an engaging and
enriching learning experience
- Prepare lessons and lectures, tutoring techniques, designing
and correcting assessments, and writing report comments
- Work together with co-teachers to develop and improve school-based
curriculum
- Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so
that all learners can succeed and improve
- Up to two supervision duties per week, in the evening
(6:30-9:00 PM)
- Any other related duties assigned by the school
- The working schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM
to 5:00 PM and teach up to 25 periods per week (A period is 45 minutes)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in the subject you apply for or
related subject
- Over two years of full-time teaching in the applied subject
or a related subject
- Teaching License is a plus
- Experience with IELTS, TOEFL, IB and AP programs is a plus
- Classroom management and professional teaching skills
- Experience with sound recording and mixing
Salary and benefits
- Monthly salary of is 18,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with
experience and qualifications
- Free on-campus independent apartment
