Middle School English Teacher

We are looking for a Middle School English ESL Teacher for an international school located in Yantai. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

International school located in Yantai, Shandong province. The school offers education programs for Early childhood, Primary and Upper Secondary, with courses for Grades 1-9 aligning with the Chinese National Curriculum and blending the essence of the Eastern and Western education IGCSE and the A Level curriculum, preparing students for future studies.

Job responsibilities

• Teach the school’s English curriculum to secondary school students
• Preparing lessons and lectures, tutoring techniques, designing and correcting assessments, and writing report comments
• Co-teach with Chinese teachers and be prepared to develop and improve school-based curriculum
• Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can succeed and improve
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregivers

Job requirements

• Minimum BA degree in education or relevant subject area
• Formal school teaching certification
• A minimum of 2 years’ relevant teaching experience, ideally with some international experience
• Relevant knowledge and understanding of subject/curriculum area
• Good communication skills
• Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and/ or IGCSE and A level programs is desirable
• Experience of working with EAL learners is desirable
• The ability to offer specific extra-curricular skills and willingness to go on internal and overseas trips as
• requested is desirable
