Middle School English Teacher

We are looking for a Middle School English Teacher for a bilingual school based in Shanghai. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August, 2023.

About the school

Situated in the bustling metropolitan of Shanghai, China, this bilingual school resides in the Pudong district and is spread across a terrain of 35,000 m2. It comprises of a kindergarten, primary, middle and high school divisions. The school offers courses that are based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) programs with the English language being the medium of instruction. 

Job responsibilities

• Organizing and delivering English lectures to Middle School students.
• Evaluating a students' class work and assignments.
• Preparing classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Recording and maintaining accurate student attendance records and grades.
• Developing teaching plans and lesson plans in line with syllabus provided.
• Guiding or coaching students on extra-curricular activities
• Communicating with parents when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Secondary license or certification (TEFL/CELTA) for teaching English, with a preference for a master’ degree in English, or other related subjects.
• Successful experience teaching in an international setting (experience with middle school students and experience with US AP curriculum preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and other teaching staff
• Ability to work in stressful situations and under pressure
• A positive attitude and Good listening/Planning/organizational skills

Salary and benefits

• Motnhly salary of 22,000 to 28,000 RMB before tax
