We are currently seeking a full-time PYP Coordinator for a Kindergarten department within a K-12 School located in Shanghai. The position will commence in August 2024, coinciding with the start of the upcoming academic year.

 

About the school

Bilingual school founded back in 2015 and located in Shanghai’s Jiading area. The school has a kindergarten, primary, middle and high school divisions and integrates China’s national curriculum with IB curriculum to meet educational needs and promote international outlook.

 

Purpose of the job:

The Kindergarten PYP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing teaching and learning, fostering a whole school learning culture, collaborating with the Kindergarten Principal to manage staff, maintaining open communication with Kindergarten staff regarding the curriculum, and leading, supporting, and managing the curriculum team leaders in the Kindergarten. As well as:

  • Share relevant IB communication with staff
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among program staff
  • Conduct parent information sessions
  • Publish program-related articles in the Newsletter
  • Prepare and submit required documentation for Program Authorization and Evaluation
  • Ensure adherence to IB requirements and procedures
  • Serve as liaison between kindergarten and IB
  • Communicate to the wider community through various media
  • Inform Vice Principal about Authorization progress
  • Promote International Mindedness in the Kindergarten

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Valid Teaching Certificate
  • 5+ years of successful IB teaching experience
