International Head of Primary School

We are looking for an International Head of Primary School for an international school located in Beijing. This is a full-time position starting in August 2025.

This international educational institution is located in Chaoyang District of Beijing. It has top-notch facilities, including a sports arena suitable for tournaments, arts classrooms, science labs equipped with the latest technology and an 800-seat theater. The school offers a combination of the national curriculum and the IB (International Baccalaureate) Philosophy to its students in elementary, middle and high school. This blend of curricula provides a strong foundation of subject knowledge and cultivates learning abilities and thinking skills.

Job description

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the Primary School (K–G5) in line with the school’s Philosophy and Objectives
• Collaborate closely with co-leaders to develop and enhance the international curriculum, particularly in English and Science
• Lead the design, implementation, and assessment of the Primary curriculum, ensuring continuous improvement
• Conduct professional appraisals for Primary School staff in accordance with school-wide policies
• Support and mentor teachers, addressing disciplinary or professional issues as needed
• Develop and manage the induction program for new teachers, familiarizing them with the school’s global education model
• Advise the Head of School on staffing, budgetary, and facility needs for the Primary School
• Review and refine curriculum guides, schemes of work, and teaching plans to promote differentiation, inquiry, and cross-curricular themes
• Analyze instructional effectiveness and assessment data, identifying areas for improvement
• Implement and promote the school’s Character Education program
• Interview prospective families and guide new students through the admissions process
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, fostering trust and collaboration
• Collaborate with other school leaders to align curriculum, policies, and student welfare initiatives
• Support the marketing and admissions team through open days, expos, and promotional events
• Participate in new student interviews and retention efforts

Requirements

• Master’s degree or above in Education or a related field
• Valid teaching qualification or certification
• Proven leadership experience in a primary or international school setting
• Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a similar leadership role
• Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., IB PYP, British, or American)
• Experience in curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and team management

Salary and Benefits

• Annual Salary is range of 600,000 to 700,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Health insurance is up to 40,000 RMB per school year for international head and his/her and family members
• Airfare reimbursement with a maximum amount of 30,000 RMB per school year to international head and the accompanied dependent 
• Free on-campus accommodation provided
• Free education for up to 2 Dependents 
• School will provide RMB 2,000 yuan as relocation reimbursement
• The School provides free working meals during working days
