High School Biology Teacher

We are looking for a Biology Teacher for a High School based in Shanghai. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

About the school

Bilingual school founded back in 2015 and located in Shanghai’s Jiading area. The school has a kindergarten, primary, middle and high school divisions and integrates China’s national curriculum with IB curriculum to meet educational needs and promote international outlook

Job responsibilities

• Teach biology courses to high school students
• Take the responsibility of designing lesson plans that demonstrate a clear connection between instruction and the curriculum established by the school, selecting and using school-approved teaching strategies and classroom resources, implementing teaching research;
• Provide a stimulating and effective learning environment for the students in supporting their learning, encouraging students' creative thinking and promote critical inquiry;
• Maintain close partnership with parents, colleagues and the community;
• Provide both written reports (termly) and informal communications (where required) to parents on the growth, progress, and attainment of the students;
• Create a safe, orderly and supportive classroom atmosphere that is conducive to effective teaching and learning;

Job requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology subjects;
• Teaching qualification;
• Minimum 3 years' full-time international curriculum teaching experience, experience with IB curriculum and Chinese students preferred;
• Excellent classroom management and behavior management skills;
• Ability to work as a part of a team in planning and implementing the school’s curriculum, strategic plans and policies;
• Strong interests in leading extra-curricular programme;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Personal integrity and professional ethics.

Salary and benefits

• Monthly salary of up to 30,000 to 35,000 RMB depending on experience and qualifications
