Head of Department

We are looking for a Head of Department for international high school located in Qingdao. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in 2023.     

About the school

There is an international boarding school situated in Qingdao's Chengyang District. It follows the American Common Core system as well as providing Advanced Placement courses for secondary school pupils and encourages an English-speaking atmosphere to get its students ready for well-known universities worldwide.

Subject and class responsibilities

• Complete the teaching plan, preparation for the lesson and other related to teaching on time
• Master and use the student management system to release assignments, correct assignments and transcribe scores in a timely manner
• Manage students' evening self-study (7pm-9pm) according to school arrangement

Supervisory responsibilities:

• Setting recruitment plans each academic year, participating in recruitment and interview process of expats
• Guide the foreign teachers to designate the teaching objective and plan as well as offering professional training to the new teachers
• Manage the teaching quality and taking measures to ensure the continuous improvement of teaching quality
• In-Service, orientation, professional conferences, weekly meetings
• Open House and Parent Conferences
• Activities organized or assigned by the school, like club, English Club
• Participation in professional development activities within and outside the school
• Attending school functions/productions
• Attending sporting, cultural and special student activities
• Parent liaison where are student concerns
• Work closely with the Chinese Operation Team to bring unity and harmony to the school
