Director of Visual and Performing Arts

We are looking for a Director of Visual and Performing Arts  for an international school in Beijing. This is a full-time position starting in August 2025.

About the school

This is an international school located in Haidian. The school offers a combination of the national curriculum and US Common core to its students in elementary and middle school, and US Common core, AP, IGCSE and A-Level in high school. 

Administrative responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth and effective operation of art department
• Lead a team of art teachers, providing guidance and leadership to the team
• Help the School to design and implement art curriculum
• Supervise, observe and arrange art instructors to give lessons according to curriculum
• Form mentor-student mechanism among at department, train and cultivate young teachers and organize class observation within the department

Teaching responsibilities

• Teach the assigned visual arts in multiple classes for secondary school
• When possible, the school will attempt to assign teachers to specific school levels
• Teach knowledge and skills in art, including theory, history, and culture
• Lead or assist in an Enrichment Program course of up to 3 hours per week

Job requirements

• 5 years full-time teaching experience in visual arts
• 3 years head of department experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Teaching certificate
• Enthusiasm for teaching and learning
• Optimistic, open-minded, good sense of humor, skilled communicator

 Salary and benefits

• Annual Salary 380,000 to 480,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
