Bilingual Mathematics Teacher

We are looking for a Bilingual Mathematics Teacher for an international high school based in Suzhou. This is a full-time position starting from the August 2023 academic year.

About the school

This high school in Suzhou is the first and only international high school in partnership with America to be recognized and approved by the provincial Ministry of Education. The school’s curriculum is student-centered, preparing them for top universities by emphasizing critical thinking, English proficiency, and a combination of Chinese and American educational practices.

Job responsibilities

• Teach the subject of mathematics to high school students utilizing the IGCSE/A-level framework and ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience
• Prepare lessons and lectures, tutoring techniques, designing and correcting assessments, and writing report comments       
• Work together with co-teachers to develop and improve school-based curriculum
• Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can succeed and improve
• Up to two supervision duties per week, in the evening (6:30-9:00 PM)
• Any other related duties assigned by the school
• The working schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and teach up to 25 periods per week. A period is 45 minutes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in the subject you apply for or related subject
• At least 8 years of teaching experience or outstanding teaching results
• Fluent in both English and Mandarin
• Teaching license
• Experience with IGCSE and A-Level curriculum
• Classroom management and professional teaching skills

Salary and benefits

• Monthly salary of is 18,000 to 35,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
