The core business of Essence Cross-Border Investment Banking Department includes:
• Execution of investments for the cross-border private equity fund which focuses on global SME companies. The fund provides value creation opportunities by delivering the Chinese market;
• M&A advisory covering both buy-side / sell-side and inbound / outbound transaction, supporting both Chinese clients in developing overseas growth strategies and international clients gaining better access to China.
The position is based in Greater New York City -- Washington, D.C. area or Shanghai China, responsibilities include:
• Conduct detailed industry and company research based on the specified criteria, including substantial desktop research, in order to identify investment opportunities;
• Initiation and participation in marketing and business development activities by preparing presentation materials and approaching target companies;
• Execution of M&A transactions, including business analysis, financial modelling and valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and documentation.
Requirements:
• 2-6 years of work experience gained at investment banks, private equity funds, consulting firms, accounting firms and MNCs (corporate development and strategic planning);
Outstanding academic record, preferably in a relevant discipline such as Business & Economics / Engineering & Science;
• Willing to travel and ready to perform in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop strategic dialogues with existing and potential target companies as well as clients;
• Able to attend on-site interviews in Mainland China is a plus;
• Highly motivated self-starter willing to integrate in a truly international working environment.
