Academic Director

We are looking for a Kindergarten Academic Director for an international school based in Guangzhou. This is a full-time position starting ASAP.

About the school

The school is a private international language school which is located in Guangzhou. It provides curricula from preschool to Grade 12, which including Chinese national curriculum (nine-year compulsory education) and as an IBO authorized school, international curricula which consist of IB PYP & MYP) and American high school program (with Cognia Accreditation) are provided independently.

Job Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Programme within the spirit of the school‘s Vision and Mission Statement
• Be in charge of the development of the Programme with the ultimate aim of running the International Baccalaureate courses with eventual full recognition by the IB
• Providing all teachers in the Programme with a strong professional development programme, including the training of teachers in collaboration with the Coordinator
• Advising the Principal on the staffing, budgetary and facilities needs
• Recruiting teachers in close collaboration with the Principal
• Liaising with the school’s registrar to make certain that students’ records are maintained

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, PGCE or PGDE with at least 7 years’ teaching experience
• Collaborative team player
• Ability to apply current technology to staff development and instructional delivery
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents.
• Successful teaching experience
• Prior training and experience in an IB program preferred but not required

Salary and benefit

• Monthly Salary of 35,000 to 40,000 RMB before tax commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Additional housing allowance of 2,000 RMB a month
