We are looking for a Deputy Principal for an international
school based in Shenzhen. This is a full-time position starting from the
upcoming academic year in August 2023.
About the school
Located in Shenzhen's Baoan district, this international
school is one of the oldest of its type in the area, providing college
preparation classes, AP curriculum and American high school courses. Since its
inception, the institution has been successful in helping thousands of students
gain access to top-notch universities, and has built an impressive reputation
in the international education field both in Shenzhen and across the nation.
About the role
The Deputy Principal supports the Founding Principal in
managing the school, aiming for recognition both domestically and
internationally. Deputy Principal provide leadership and motivation for school
development, working under the direction of the Founding Principal and the board.
The Deputy Principal teaches up to 10 periods per week and is expected to be
present during school hours and attend events outside regular hours as needed.
School development responsibilities
- Manage school brand publicity, including student interviews
and reviewing external content
- Assist the Founding Principal in developing educational
goals and strategies
- Enhance the international atmosphere of the school and
improve students' language abilities
- Undertake assigned projects or lead specific issues as
directed by the Founding Principal
- Assist the Founding Principal and collaborate with the
Principal Team to coordinate school plans and policies for Board of Management
approval
School management responsibilities
- Oversee daily school management with the Principal team,
including class schedules
- Support the Academic Department in creating a supportive
learning environment for high achievement
- Promote effective teaching and learning practices among
staff and students
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning across the school
- Contribute to the development and implementation of teaching
and learning policies
- Assist the Wellbeing team in student discipline and behavior
supervision
- Participate in teaching staff recruitment and professional
development
- Strengthen collaboration between Chinese and foreign teams
and enhance staff cohesion
- Serve as a communication bridge between the Board, staff,
and students
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders through attending
necessary meetings and providing reports and information
Qualifications
- Highly experienced leader with knowledge and skills in
leading and developing schools
- Demonstrates a dynamic, forward-thinking mindset
- Establishes and maintains a positive, internationally
minded, and collaborative environment
- Ensures high academic standards and student achievement
- Minimum 5 years' experience leading in a high-performing
international school
- Experience with AP or A-level Programme
- Excellent understanding of international school standards, curriculum, and teaching and learning developments
Salary and benefits
- Annual salary of 600,000 to 800,000 RMB
