We are looking for a Curriculum Development Coordinator
& Head of General Studies for an international school in Shenzhen. This is
a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2024.
About the school
The international school, situated in the Nanshan Zone, is
spread over an area of 14,700 square meters and offers esteemed IGCSE and A
Level international curriculum. It is set up to accommodate up to 900 students,
featuring superior resources for Early Years to Sixth Form with boarding
services. The campus offers a comprehensive approach to education, with sports
and recreational grounds, library and common rooms, as well as cafeterias and
lecture halls. This gives students the opportunity to move between different learning
and activities areas, allowing them to learn, work together, and interact in a
relaxed manner.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the program curriculum to ensure alignment with the
foundation curriculum and curriculum articulation
- Directing the curriculum and assisting teachers in planning
and directing learning across all subject groups and core content areas
- Develop school special needs and assessment policies
- Conduct parent workshops on program overview and support
strategies
- Implementing and adapting curriculum and teaching strategies
to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment
- Tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of students;
integrate information technology into instruction where appropriate
- adhere to behavioral standards; comply with health and
safety policies
- Developing students' self-esteem; maintaining regular
communication with parents and community involvement
- Setting an example; attending school meetings and
development activities
- Maintain subject knowledge; participate in continuing
professional development
- Respect the needs of colleagues; maintain team cohesion and
contribute to the efficient running of the school.
- Lead new school initiatives and respond constructively to
self-evaluation reviews
- Develop IT skills in line with the school's digital learning
strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or above
- Appropriate degree, with primary education teacher training
(in English language education) internationally recognized, or other equivalent
teaching qualification
- At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Excellent communication English skills
- Eligible to apply working visa
