Principal

We are looking for a Principal for an international school located in Nanjing. This is a full-time position starting ASAP.

About the role

The Deputy Principal (International) will prepare high-calibre Chinese students to study at leading world universities, including top UK and US universities. He/She will work at the School, a K-12 boarding school. And he will work together with Chinese principals and focus on academic affairs. The successful candidate may also be appointed Deputy Principal  or be invited to serve as International Principal.

Job Respondibilities

• Administration of teaching affairs related to the international courses for high school sector;
• Co- work on curriculum development;
• Development of fusion courses, including British/American culture and contemporary approaches to learning;
• Designing and Overseeing teacher’s PD programmes;
• Coordinating school’s international affairs, ie. student exchange, foreign expert visit, transnational academic cooperation
• Administration of teaching affairs related to the international courses for high school sector
• Establish academic rules and processes
• Faculty’s PLC building (Professional Learning Community)
• Monitoring the International programmes, including IGCSE and A-level/IB/AP
• Monitoring the mentor programmes
• Co- work on curriculum development (with Chinese principals)
• Curriculum mapping
• Curriculum review
• Curriculum update
• Development of fusion courses, including British/American culture andlearning approaches
• The integration of Chinese high school courses and I-GCSE courses
• Incorporating trans-cultural understanding and learning approachesinto the fusion courses
• Facilitate short-term academic visit programmes at US/UK universities
• Designing and overseeing teacher’s PD programmes
• The operation of PD programmes
• Enlarge the PD resources
• Teacher evaluation
• Coordinating school’s international affairs, ie. student exchange, foreign expert visit, transnational academic cooperation
• Work together with colleagues in the UK/USA
• Coordinating the international affairs related to Nanjing Thomas School
• Public relation activities
• Teacher 60 classes each months

Qualifications

• Familiarity with the UK/USA education system
• Experience of senior administration within US/UK schools (at least 10 years)
• Principal/head teacher experience at one or multiple well-established US/UK schools is highly desired
• Knowledge of the Chinese education system (desirable)
• Working experience in China (desirable)
