SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Logistics Manager oversees the inbound warehousing and outbound flow of goods and all internal teams associated with these tasks. The Logistics Manager must be able to deal with general management and strategic planning while also able to involve themselves in practical work on the warehouse floor. Critical to this position is the requirement to work with the procurement team in coordinating inbound freight to meet the needs of the production lines. This person ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and goods.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Warehouse Management

  • Maintains receiving return to vendor warehousing and distribution operations by initiating coordinating and enforcing program operational and personnel policies and procedures

  • Monitor warehouse performance metrics; picked not delivered inventory aging and transfers

  • Coordinates with procurement quality and production the flow and timing of goods required to meet production schedules

  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the ERP system

  • Maintains labor resources needed by coordinating with HR with recruiting selecting and orienting employees and temp workers

  • Responsible for montering employee performance and development. Provide coaching disciplining and appraises job results

  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement as well as cleanness of the warehouse

  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing maintaining and monitoring security and safety procedures and protocols

  • Effectively communicate internally and externally with customers


Logistics Management

  • Apply planning and coordination to activities to support inbound and outbound operations

  • Establish full spectrum of cost effective logistics services (ground/air/ocean/standard/expedited)

  • Develop strategy for inbound material logistics to maximize multiple supplier pickups while reducing overall transportation costs

  • Manage vendors for quality cost and effectiveness. Create or maintain vendor scorecards to establish/maintain exemplary service levels with vendors

  • Required to handle technical details relating to international transportation such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation if needed

  • Review and evaluate the costs of transportation services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy

  • Work closely with package engineers to ensure the protection of freight in transportation

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be bilingual and fluent in Mandarin and English (verbal and written)

  • Minimum of 10 years of warehouse inventory and logistic management experience with 6+ years at a senior management level in warehouse and logistics operations

  • Must have experience in stock control and customs liaison

  • Must have strong management skills able to efficiently organise a large team on various shifts when the Warehouse runs for 24 hours

  • Must also be able to inspire a workforce and encourage strong teamwork

  • Proficiency with standard MS Office applications. Required to have a sound understanding of industry standard computer software

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and familiar usage with hand tools and power tools
