International College Counselor

We are looking for an International College Counselor for a High School based in Jinan. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

Job purpose

The American High School Program partners with 10 schools in southeastern China, focusing on JiangSu province. The role involves supporting students, teachers, counselors, and parents in understanding Western Education, aiming to prepare students for successful college graduation. Responsibilities include working with the Academic and Counseling Departments, overseeing the application process, and providing education and training as well as:      

• Collaborate with senior 3 students and their counselor to assist in compiling their school selection list and preparing application documents
• Enhance and implement the counseling evaluation system for all students involved in the counseling program, working alongside other counseling staff
• Engage in parent meetings to emphasize the significance of a well-rounded education over an exam-centric approach
• Design workshops and resources for teachers, counselors, and students, facilitating their comprehension of the university application process and enabling them to create competitive applications
• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors

Job requirements

• BA degree or above
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
• At least 2 years of working experience in the same field
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure for key deadlines
• Ability to speak basic Mandarin Chinese preferred
