IB Curriculum Coordinator

We are looking for an IB PYP Curriculum Coordinator for an international school based in Guangzhou. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

About the school

The school is a private international language school which located in Guangzhou; it consists of primary, middle, American high school program, IEP program and a Korean department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Formulate the IB training content as a handbook, and timely deliver the handbook and organize professional training to all teachers;
• Participate in various professional events or activities organized by IB to develop cooperation channels with domestic and foreign counterparts;
• Assist the Chinese PYP Coordinator in curriculum development, design and compile textbooks, teaching plans and environmental innovation designs in line with IB concept;
• Assist the Chinese PYP Coordinator to carry out IB project concept training, and conduct professional training and assessment for teachers;
• Assist the Chinese PYP Coordinator in developing designated policies according to the requirements of IB PYP;
• Create an international environment and atmosphere in the I-EP department;
• Cooperate with other teachers and staffs for the student enrollment work, illustrate the education concept and teaching content in demo classes;
• Promote the PYP transdisciplinary teaching, UOI exploration project, graduation achievement exhibition, etc.
• Assist the Chinese PYP Coordinator in visiting other teachers’ classes and evaluating the lessons
• Perform some teaching tasks assigned by the department according to the PYP class schedule

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above, preferably education-related degree and relevant teaching qualifications and certifications.
• Administration (educational, Primary school), experience in an international school environment, significant experience teaching the PYP.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a PYP Coordinator or Assistant PYP Coordinator.
• Knowledge of change management theory and practice.
• Ability to apply current technology to staff development and instructional delivery.
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents.

Salary and benefits

• Monthly Salary of 35,000 to 40,000 RMB before tax commensurate with experience and qualifications
