Head of Upper School

We are looking for a Head of Upper School for a bilingual school based in Zhuhai. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

About the school

Situated in Zhuhai's Hengqin district, the bilingual education school provides a full K-12 curriculum and boarding services to students. It offers a unique blend of the national curriculum and the British curriculum, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience. The campus design of the school prioritizes the creation of interactive outdoor learning spaces, aiming to foster student engagement and create a natural educational environment. These spaces are carefully designed to encourage students to actively participate in their learning journey, enabling them to explore and interact with their surroundings.

Job purpose

• Establish, evaluate and develop the academic aims and standards of the Upper School division in partnership with pupils, staff, governors, personnel and parents
• Take responsibility for the leadership, and management of Upper School division
• Assist the Head Master, Principal and Deputy Head in establishing and maintaining a vibrant and thriving school
• Manage the performance of the Upper School teaching staff
• Ensure that quality educational programs take place in a safe, positive and healthy learning environment

Requirements

• Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS
• At least 4 years senior leadership experience
• Experience in teaching learners with diverse needs, especially EAL in the Upper School
• Experience in managing performance of staff, especially senior or middle level managers
• Working knowledge of KS3, IGCSE/GCSE and A Levels as appropriate

• Monthly salary of 35,000 to 48,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
