Geography Teacher

We are looking for a Geography Teacher for an international school based in Guangzhou. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2023.

International school located in Guangzhou’s Huadu district. The school offers international education to mainland Chinese students through their multiple campuses all over China. The school has an Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary divisions with outstanding educational results in IGCSE and the A Level programmes, where their graduates go on to study and top universities across the world.

Job description

• Teach geography courses to middle school students as well as plan, asses and report accordingly
• Develop, implement and continuously improve lesson plans
• Plan and use variety of teaching strategies to support the engagement of all learners in class
• Be aware of the ESL learning needs and provides learning opportunities for diverse learners
• Develop teacher grade books, including assignments and correct students’ homework in an organized, professional manner and make sure accurate records of each student are kept
• Develop school mid/end-term exams following school curriculum and policies 
• Conduct tests or exams, marking and reporting in a timely and professional manner
• Assess and address attention to students’ individualized needs; keep regular updates eg. Progress records/progress reports for students during the term; complete report cards when necessary.
• Develop special activities or programs to meet individualized/differentiated student needs.
• Organize and prepare learning materials or teaching aids at a professional level

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in education or relevant subject
• A good grasp of the methodology of teaching related subjects
• Have an understanding and ability to teach pupils of all abilities
• At least 2 years teaching experience in an international school
• Qualified home-country teaching license will be a plus
