College Counselor

We are looking for a College Counselor for an International School based in Chengdu. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2025.

About the school

International school based in Chengdu has both day and boarding options for Chinese nationals and is backed by its UK college. The Chengdu campus offers pre-school, primary and secondary and can accommodate 1200 students.

Job details

• Guide students and families through university applications for the UK, US, and international institutions
• Stay updated on global admission requirements, trends, and scholarships
• Assist with application materials, including personal statements, essays, and resumes
• Advise on standardized tests (SAT, ACT, IELTS, TOEFL) and provide preparation resources
• Coordinate teacher recommendations and ensure timely application submissions
• Organize workshops on university applications, financial aid, and career planning
• Track student applications, acceptances, and scholarships; prepare reports for school leadership
• Support students in identifying strengths, interests, and career goals
• Teach EAL to secondary students using the IGCSE/A-level framework, ensuring an engaging learning experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher majoring in the relevant subject
• At least 3 years’ related teaching experience
• Excellent English communicative skills
• Familiar with the university application processes for the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and other countries

Salary and benefits

• Monthly Salary of 22,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Monthly housing allowance of 3,500 RMB
